The pavilion, sponsored by Asus, and Révolution Linux featured 60 Eee Boxes being used as thin clients driven from a server running Edubuntu. About Us
Welcome fellow Ubuntites, Ubuntunistas, Ubunturists("Ubunt-tourist"), etc! The DC LoCo Team serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area, which includes parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia. We focus our efforts on advocating the use of Edubuntu in K-12 schools, libraries, and community centers, but we are the proper place to come for all things Ubuntu.
We had an active and exciting first year. Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia has been established as an Edubuntu testing site. We joined forces with the Friends of the Mount Rainier Library in Mount Rainier, Maryland for an event celebrating Software Freedom Day. We have been working with Tenants and Workers United in Alexandria, Virginia supporting their Edubuntu Center.
How to participate
We would love to have you involved in our ongoing projects and upcoming events. The best way to get started is to sign up on Launchpad and let us know a bit about yourself and describing your interest in Ubuntu in your profile. Then join the team. If you have troubles getting started, send an email to our team leader, Kevin Cole at <kjcole@ubuntu.com>. You can also check out our forum.
