The Ubuntu Global Jam is an incredible opportunity for the Ubuntu community to unite together around the weekend of 2nd - 4th September 2011 to work together to improve Ubuntu. Everyone is able to contribute to the Jam, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved. Curious about how to make a real difference to Ubuntu? This is a great chance to make that difference.

An Appeal to Ubuntu Activists to Help Us Out with Ubuntu Sugar Remix

    Fri, 2010-10-08 08:29 - jelkner

On Saturday, October 16 from 1 to 4 pm we will be having a "release party" for Ubuntu Sugar Remix (USR). This is a joint event between the DC OLPC Learning Club (http://olpclearningclub.org) and our own LoCo Team. I'd like to make an appeal to any and all Ubuntu activists who would like to see Ubuntu be more widely used to join us in the development of USR. Adding Sugar to Ubuntu creates a computer for the whole family (see http://proyectojuanchacon.blogspot.com/2010/10/introducing-ubuntu-family...).

The Maverick Meerkat (no relation to the Maverick McCain) is rapidly approaching. In a parallel universe, some of our LoCo folks — among them, Luke Faraone and Jeff Elkner — are lobbying, cajoling, and fixing last minute issues with the Ubuntu Sugar Remix (USR) in an effort to get it included in the official set of supported goodies.
